Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India] Apr 20(NT): The Uttar Pradesh government has taken out the 'Y' category security cover of rape accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar.

The Bangarmau MLA from Unnao district had the benefit of 'Y' category security in which he had a security cover of 11 personnel, including one or two commandos and police personnel.

The BJP MLA, who was detained by the CBI this week in links with the alleged rape of 18-year-old-girl in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district, is at present in the custody of the agency.

The CBI, which is investing the case, has filed three cases against BJP MLA Sengar in regard to the crime he allegedly committed last year.

Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Police had imposed charges him under sections 363 (kidnapping), 366 (abduction of woman), 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and handed over the case to the CBI as ANI informed.

In the whole country, PM Modi and his BJP led Govt. was also criticized by activists and the opposition for his silence and disinclination to reign in BJP leaders who were seen to support the accused.
