UP Kasganj violence: ‘Pro Pak agents should be identified’ says Kalraj Mishra

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Feb 3 (NT): Holding pro-Pakistani elements responsible behind the violence in Kasganj, former Union Minister Kalraj Mishra has said that forces involved with them should be identified.

"I have stressed that forces, trying to aggravate communal tension, should be identified. Those who collude with pro-Pakistani elements and want to create chaos in different ways should be identified," Mishra told press here, on Friday.

One person, recognized as Chandan Gupta, was taken life and two others were injured after clashes broke out between two groups in Kasganj district of Uttar Pradesh following an unauthorized bike rally, organized to mark the Republic Day.

The conflict came to blow after a group objected to firm slogans raised by bike-borne participants of the rally.

As of now, the Uttar Pradesh Police has detained nine people in links with the case.

By 9 am on January 26, Kasganj was laid down for a huge conflict. The Hindu boys had reached in Prabhu Park riding motorbikes and carrying tricolor and saffron flags to take out a Republic Day 2018 rally. The Muslim boys had finished adorning Baddunagar Chowk for a Republic Day carnival as rangoli, chairs, balloons, and a flagpole holding up the tricolor.

By 10.15 am, the  entire town had turned into a theatre of war. The motorcycle march charged into the narrow lane through Baddunagar, the Hindu boys insisted a passage, the Muslim boys stood their ground, the Hindu boys demanded the Muslim boys recite ‘Vande Mataram’ or leave India, the Muslim boys poked fun at the parade, and as both sides verbal confrontation and physical fights started.
