The Uttar Pradesh government refused to take help of the Centre’s offer to send to the drought hit districts of Bundelkhand, saying that the state isn't facing a water crisis as severe as in Marathawada.

Sources in the railways told media that the railway ministry offered to send water through train to Bundelkhand's Mahoba district.

Suresh Chandra, principal secretary revenue, government of UP told "The ministry made us the offer but we told them that the current situation does not merit the interventions that were needed in Marathwada. We have asked them to supply water when we will raise a demand”.

The UP government also said the state has made adequate arrangements to meet the water scarcity in Bundelkhand.
