Police arrested four criminals, including a reporter, on a raid in the forest of Jalalpur village of Baberu police station area of Banda district in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, revealing a factory to build illegal arms.

Apart from the possession of the criminals, a rifle and 21 native guns have also been recovered to make weapons.  Police said on Saturday that the police had raided the forest near Jalanpura Dera of Jalalpur village on Friday evening and bundled the factory to build illegal arms for a long time, a factory made 315 bore from there.

Rifles and 21 native guns, half-a-dozen 315 bore tamers and weapons making tools have been recovered from the spot. Reporter and former dacoity Sardar Nathu Yadav, Nishad, Arvind Yadav and Jagtnarayn have been arrested. He told that all the people caught are criminal. Against Nathu Sardar, there are 53 cases of attempt to murder and robbery in various police stations of the district. The SP has expressed the apprehension that these weapons could be used to spread disturbances in the body elections.

Earlier Mainpuri police had raided an illegal arms factory in Lalpur Saugauni village on November 10 and seized at least 20 country made pistols of 315 bore and machines and arrested one person in this connection. Similarly, seven country made pistols and other equipment needed for making weapon were seized and two men arrested from Daurala area in Meerut on November 20.
