Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presents UnionBudget2018 in Parliament

FM Jaitley, carrying the emblematic cherry-brown briefcase containing the Budget Papers, was seen earlier at the Ministry of Finance (North Block) along with Finance Secretary Dr Hasmukh Adhia, Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Subramanian, Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg and others. Following Union Budget 2018 the rupee weakened by 9 paise to 63.67 against the US dollar and Sensex jumps nearly 135 points and ahead of the budget.

When Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will step in the Parliament on today Feb 1 2018, he will have a challenge to not just apprehend the 'New India' dream by urging growth, but also meet expectations of 1.25 million people of India in different sections of society and businesses of the country.

FM Jaitley, who reviewed the final copy of the document on Wednesday evening here, is expected to proceed towards the Rashtrapati Bhavan from the North Block at 9 am he will reach Parliament at 9:40 am.Following a cabinet meeting, Jaitley will present his last Budget in the Parliament at around 11 a.m.He is also expected to address the media at around 3.30 p.m. this afternoon. This budget is noteworthy as It would be Modi-led- government's fifth and final full budget which would be presented by Arun Jaitely after GST implementation.
