Committees will be constituted for public hearings of cases arising under the #MeToo campaign that has been gaining momentum against sexual exploitation offenders of women. This information was given by Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi on Friday.

Union Minister Maneka Gandhi said that senior Judge proposed committee consisting of legal experts will look at all the issues arising from I-II. He said that I can understand the pain and shock of every complaint.

She said her ministry will soon propose a committee with senior judicial and legal persons as members to look into all issues emanating from the #MeToo campaign.

 

“I believe in all of them. I believe in the pain and trauma behind every single complainant.

“I am proposing to set up a committee with senior judicial and legal persons as members to look into all issues emanating from the #MeToo campaign,” she said in an interview to news agency PTI. The committee will look into the officially authorized and institutional framework which is in place for handling complaints of sexual exploitation including some of the complaints if required, and advise the ministry on how to reinforce these, she stated.

For those who don't know The #MeToo movement has gathered pace over the last fortnight with a flock of women coming forward with personal accounts of sexual harassment by colleagues and bosses especially film fraternity  so far Aloknath Sazid Khan and Nana Patekar among others who had been levied serious allegation.
