Washington D.C. [U.S.A.], Oct 03 (NT): Following his trip to Asia, United States Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo is slated to visit Pyongyang and meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un next week. The State Department talking head, Heather Nauert announced that Pompeo and Kim will meet in Pyongyang on October 7. Nauert indicated that the talk between both leaders will aim at Pyongyang's nuclear capability as one of the issues that will be discussed.
Nauert also emphasized on the call for a discussion between the two countries saying that it shows forward progress and momentum that the UN secretary is making his fourth trip back in less than a year.She added that it shows the US president's commitment to the agreement that he and Chairman Kim made at the Singapore summit. The two are also likely to talk about the second Kim-Trump summit.
Worth mention here Pompeo was asked for to visit Pyongyang by North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho when the two met for a summit on the sidelines of the 73rd session of United Nations General Assembly in New York last week.
