If you are one who is in the stage of pregnancy than this information is very much useful to you that you should avoid using plastic-packaged products, as per the new study proves that a chemical used in them that can be dangers for you and your future baby too. According to the Penn State research, chemical bisphenol A (BPA), is used in plastic packaging and in the linings of food and beverage cans, may be passed from a mother to her offspring during pregnancy and cause changes in the gut bacteria of the offspring.

In one more study of rabbits, it is exposed that  BPA while the time of pregnancy caused chronic inflammation in the offspring’s intestines and liver. The researchers also found that signs of increased gut permeability or leaky gut and a decrease in the diversity of gut bacteria and anti-inflammatory bacterial metabolites, such as short-chain fatty acids, told by a  researcher Jairam KP Vanamala.

In coming days, Vanamala told researchers may also try to find how the influence of diet and environment during pregnancy could affect long-term health. The researchers used rabbits because of their longer gestation period, which is similar to humans. Rodents have shorter gestation periods, according to Vanamala.

Moreover, he also suggested that future research may investigate whether there is a relationship between a decrease in gut bacteria diversity and food allergies.
