Varun Dhawan will be seen in Ranbhoomi which is directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The film will release during Diwali 2020.

Our association has always been successful and magical, and we decided to take our alliance further and create a mammoth spectacle. Dharma is home for the both of us, and what better team than this to collaborate on a Diwali celebration? Rannbhoomi is an ambitious film with a beating heart,” informed Varun to a leading daily.

A report in a leading tabloid claimed ‘Ranbhoomi’ to be a reimagined version of the film ‘Shuddhi’ which has been shelved. A reliable source discarded the report and such speculations saying, “Ranbhoomi is a fresh script by Shashank Khaitan and is no reimagined version of Shuddhi. The news is completely false.”

Shashank Khaitan, who helms the film, said about the film, “Rannbhoomi is a warrior film, which showcases love, relationships, sacrifices, revenge, and heroism. I remember, I began developing it in December 2015 and shared the idea with Varun, who got excited about it. Now, Karan has given us the wings to fly and we are excited to turn this dream into a reality.”

Currently, Varun Dhawan is shooting for ‘Sui Dhaaga: Made in India’ slated for release on September 28, 2018, which also stars Anushka Sharma and another film ‘October’ which will release in April 2018.
