Bengaluru [India], June 15 (NT): Strutting Indian skipper and the run machine Virat Kohli and former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni underwent a Yo-Yo Endurance Test here at the National Cricket Academy on Friday as ANI reported.

The two great captains took the fitness test to decide their availability for the upcoming tour of the United Kingdom. In his tour three T20Is, three ODIs and five-match Test series are scheduled. This cricket event will commence June 27 at the Old Trafford in Manchester.

It is noted that the test was taken on the sidelines of the second day of the historic one-off Test match between India and Afghanistan at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Kohli, who is one of the fittest Indian cricketers, is at present undergoing rehabilitation for a neck injury that he sustained during his campaign with the Rajasthan Royals at the 11th season of the much acclaimed Indian Premier League (IPL).

Apart from Kohli and Dhoni, all the other players selected for limited-over series against England also underwent the fitness test on Friday.

Lately, Mohammad Shami was dropped and was replaced by uncapped Navdeep Saini in the Indian Test team for the ongoing one-off Test match against Afghanistan after he was failed the fitness test at National Cricket Academy.
