Virat Kohli gets Umrigar Award, but wife Anushka Sharma was a star attraction

Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli was awarded the Polly Umrigar Award on Tuesday in the BCCI's annual event. Kohli was given the award because of being the best player in international cricket in 2016-17 and 2017-18. Kohli scored 1332 runs in 13 Tests in the 2016-17 season with an average of 74.   

In limited overs, Kohli scored 1516 runs in 27 matches. During this period, their average was 84.22. Kohli scored 896 runs in his account at an average of 89.6 in six games with a red ball in the 2017-18 season. KL Rahul, Kartik and his wife Deepika Pallikal were also present. Dinesh Karthik's wife and squash player appeared with Deepika Pallikal.     

Team India coach Ravi Shastri gave a trophy to Kohli with his own hands. On this occasion, Kohli said that the importance of this award increases even more because today my wife is present here.  Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma paired in the BCCI's awards.   

Smriti Mandhana was selected as the Best International Women's Cricket Player of the Year 2017-18. So Harmanpreet Kaur was chosen as the best international cricket woman player of the 2016-17 season.  Former England captain Kevin Pietersen was also present on this occasion. He M.K. Pataudi memorial lecture in his talk. He became the first non-Indian cricketer to deliver this annual award speech.
