Volkswagen recently announced the start of production of its new sedan car. This car is being made in the company's Aurangabad facility. Volkswagen can launch this sedan by the end of this year. The current model of Volkswagen Passat is of 8th Generation and its last generation model in India is closed from 2014. In a way, Volkswagen will re-launch Passat in India from the fresh end.

Volkswagen will be equipped with a 2.0 liter TDI diesel engine. This engine will come with 6 speed DSG automatic gearbox and generate power of 177 horsepower. Volkswagen had showcased Passat GTE at the 2016 Auto Expo.

The Volkswagen Passat, which is planned to launch in India, will be built on the company's Versatile MQB platform. Cars such as Tiago, Skoda Octavia are also built on these platforms.

Compared with the old model, the new Volkswagen Passail will have 80 multi-billion more. It will be 2,791 mm. This will increase the space inside the car. The length of the new model will also be increased by 13 mm to 4,767 mm. With this, the width will also increase from 12 mm to 1,832 mm. In India, Volkswagen Passat is expected to compete with cars such as Skoda, Toyota and Honda Accord.
