Vyapam scam: CBI files charge sheet against 95 recruitment

Bhopal, The CBI has filed a charge sheet against former Madhya Pradesh minister Laxmikant Sharma,his OSD and 93 others for alleged irregularities in the recruitment of contractual teachers through Vyapam in 2011. Besides former Minister and his OSD, the charge sheet, filed in a special court in Bhopal, also named Pankaj Trivedi, the then controller of examinations at Vyapam, the then principal system analyst in Vyapam Nitin Mohindra, two other officials, six middlemen and 83 candidates.

It was revealed from the files contained in the hard disk of the computer of then principal system analyst-Vyapam that marks of certain candidates were allegedly increased to enable them to qualify the test."The same were verified with the OMR answer sheets of the candidates and it was found that marks of 84 candidates were increased, in the final result, to make them qualify the examination. One candidate is absconding and investigation is continuing in his case," said CBI spokesperson Abhishek Dayal.

The agency has charged them with criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery, violation of IT Act, provisions of prevention of corruption act and others.The CBI registered an FIR in the case in 2015 on the directions of the Supreme Court
