Soon, unorganized workers, who are working in the unorganized sector, can also get the facility of provident fund (PF) and insurance. The Labor and Employment Ministry is working on this proposal. According to reports, the central government is preparing proposals to provide these facilities to the wage laborers of the unorganized sector from April 2018. 

Only 47.5 crore workers are getting the Secretary in the Ministry of Social Security,   Labor and Employment, the Minister said that it is the motive of the government to provide social security to all in the country. Now, about 475 million workers are taking advantage of social security schemes in the country. 

Roadmap of this scheme is as such, Under the scheme, all workers of the unorganized sector will be provided a unique identification number by the government, which provides central provident fund organization. After this, the number will be linked to the Aadhar card. The government is working on this scheme at a time when already a lot of spending is being spent on social security schemes. In 2017 about 2.5 crore people have been added to social security schemes.   In this 90% work-force-organized sector.

Government's scheme will benefit the workers of the unorganized sector, whereas about 90% of the total workforce in the country works in the organized sector. The State and the Center will raise the expenses for this scheme.
