One of the Veteran actor in the Bollywood Zeenat Aman turns 66 today. On the eve of her special day, singer Sanjeevani Bhelande will belt out Aman's hit numbers at a tribute concert. Titled Mehek-e-Zeenat, the show will be held tomorrow in Borivali. The singer is looking forward to performing in Aman's presence. She tells mid-day, "Zeenatji will sit on stage as I perform the songs picturised on her. She will share anecdotes and memories, like how Do Lafzon Ki Hai was shot in Venice and Khatuba in Cairo, as I sing the songs. She is a living legend, who modernised the look of the conventional Hindi film heroine."

Bhelande will perform hits from films like Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978), Ajanabee (1974), Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971), The Great Gambler (1979), Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973) and Heera Panna (1973). Few among these are also Aman's favourites.

Zeenat Aman was born in Mumbai (then called Bombay) in 1951 to Amanullah Khan. Her father, Amanullah Khan, was related to the Bhopal State ruling family. He was a script writer for such movies as Mughal-e-Azam and Pakeezah. Amanullah Khan often wrote under the nom de plume "Aman", which she later adopted as her second name on screen. He died when Aman was 13. Her mother remarried to a German man called Heinz. Zeenat Aman's mother's name is Scinda (Vardhini) Heinz. Aman's mother obtained German citizenship. She is the cousin of actor Raza Murad and niece of actor Murad.

Talking about her birthday plans, Aman says, "Birthdays validate the joy of life. I usually celebrate mine with my family and friends. I am looking forward to to sharing a meal and some time with the disadvantaged."
