After pressure from Indian government whatsapp changed its rules to prevent the menace of rumours and fake news. Whatsapp has announced another series of the measures to restrict forwarding of images, meassage and video to a large number of the people. Whatsapp announced that it will limit how many times a message can be forwarded. Whatsapp took this solid step after increasing case of mob lynching that are linked to message, image and video circulated on whatsapp group.

According to new rule, Indian Whatsapp users will not be able to forward the message to more than five chart at once instead of multiple chart at once. Whatsapp said that they are deeply committed to safety and privacy of users that is why whatsapp is end to end encrypted and will continue improve the app with features like this.

 

On Thursday Indian government send a second letter to whatsapp asking it to take solid solutions that are effective in bringing accountability and foster enforcement of law aftermath enhancing incidents of rumours that trigger lynching incidents.

 

India is the biggest market of Whatsapp with more 200 million users. According to whatsapp Indian users forward more messages, images and videos than any other nation. The maximum number of members in a Whats app group is 256.
