Day to day, new cases of ragging coming in front and recently disturbed by ragging in Gujarat a dalit student has attempted suicide. This is the case of Commerce College of Ahmedabad. According to the information, the student trying to commit suicide studies in the first semester of B.Com. The student is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.

A case against three other students who have studied in the same college on the basis of the statement of the student. According to the statement, the three students were troubling him for the last three months. The accused, in the name of ragging, forced the student to dance without pants in the public. Apart from this, due to being a Dalit, he was given racist abuses.

According to the statement of the victim student, culprits also threatened him of killing. Bothered by all this, the student tried to commit suicide by drinking phenyl in the college bathrooms. It is being told that the victim student took admission in the college hostel in the university in July.

Student are mistaking ragging with crime. Initially, it was only fun which is conducted for the better interaction of senior and juniors. But, now it is turning to crime, for which a serious action should be taken including strict punishment. Although, a caste discrimination has been induced by govt. only by providing reservations to several categories, which is now creating differences between citizens that should be reduced. So, govt. needs to mark a full stop on reservations to maintain equality and also should announce a severe punishment to ragging cases culprits.
