New Delhi [India], Jan 16 (NT): As the Union Budget 2018-19 is around the corner, Textile industry and garment dealers expects of a decrease in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates which imposed on textiles. According to Textile experts they believe, there is a radically held back in sales after the introduction of GST.

The GST was put into a practice on July 1 last year and has seen reprisal from the textile industry ever since. While the tax rates were decreased to 12 percent, and then further was reduced to 5 percent, the common outlook is that traders have been harshly exaggerated by the new-fangled taxation system.

After the introduction of GST the volume of sale has considerably reduced, and the several customers have jumped down. Now garment dealers hope that the government will reduce taxes, thus sales could pick up again.

The first Budget Session of the Parliament will be carried out from January 29 to February 9, while the second session will be carried out from March 5 to April 6.

This will be the last and final budget of Modi-led -Govt which will be presented by FM Arun Jaitley and his cabinet on February 1, 2018. (NT)
