December 1,is considered as the World AIDS Day, a day which is dedicated to increasing awareness about human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, which produces the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). It is also a day said to be united in the fight against HIV, to show care for people living with HIV, and to commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), globally, there is a prediction that about  36.7 million people living with the virus at the end of 2016 - with 1.8 million people becoming recently infected in that year.
Some Types and indications of HIV infection.

Having a broad knowledge about HIV can help stop or reduce the risk of getting the disease. This involves being aware of signs and symptoms, transmission and risk factors, etc. The symptoms of HIV  depending on the stage of infection. Most of the people will show short, flu-like symptoms within 1-2 months of infection. But, some people experience no symptoms and are unaware until later stages. Below Here are some common early warning signs of HIV to look for:

Fever
Headache
Sore throat
Rash
Swollen lymph nodes
Diarrhoea
Cough
Weakness
Weight loss
Muscle and joint pain
Ulcers in the mouth
Ulcers on the genitals
Night Sweats

Above symptoms can last anywhere from a few days to several weeks. And as the virus continues to multiply and destroy immune cells, it typically progresses to AIDS in 10 years. HIV can't be cured, but effective antiretroviral regimens (ARVs) can significantly slow the disease's progress as well as prevent secondary infections and complications.
