If you were Yahoo users in 2013 then your information was also broken. Yahoo says that all its 3 billion accounts were hacked in 2013. Yahoo has described it as the Internet's biggest hacking. At present Yahoo is part of Varizon Communications Inc. Yahoo has said in its statement that the investigation revealed that hackers had made the biggest attack on Yahoo! four years ago.

However, Yahoo says that stolen information does not include information from users of payment card data or bank accounts. Yahoo had said in December 2016 that data of more than 1 billion accounts was stolen in 2013. Because of this, Yahoo had to reduce prices even when selling their assets to Verizon.

John Yanchunis, a lawyer representing some of the affected Yahoo users, said a federal judge who allowed the case to go forward still had asked for more information to justify his clients’ claims.

“I think we have those facts now,” he said. “It’s really mind-numbing when you think about it.”

Some lawyers asked whether Verizon would look for a new opportunity to address the price.

“This is a bombshell,” said Mark Molumphy, lead counsel in a shareholder derivative lawsuit against Yahoo’s former leaders over disclosures about the hacks.
