“Nobody has the right to play with law, be it Sanjay Leela Bhansali or anybody is. And I feel that if those giving death threats are guilty,  Bhansali is also guilty of hurting people’s feeling,” Adityanath told.

Yogi added that action will be taken against both the groups and the filmmakers.

The Supreme Court on Monday discarded another plea demanding a stay on the screening of the film, citing, "We cannot interfere with CBFC's work," and stated that the Censor Board should be permitted to do its job.

The hullabaloo over the movie had taken a horrible turn after members of the Rajput Karni Sena, a fringe group in Rajasthan, threatened to “cut off Padukone’s nose and behead Bhansali” if the film aired.

The Karni Sena claims that the film, based on the legend of Rani Padmini or Padmavati, the queen of Chittorgarh, compromise on the honor of the Rajput queen.

Padmavati, which was lined up to release on December 1, now postponed
