A 40 years old lady fooled by a fraudster; looted Rs.6.98 lakhs

 A cyber fraud cheated a 40 year old women and looted Rs.6.98 lakh from her.

The fraudster started executing his plan from May 17 with calling the lady and pretending to be the Manager of State Bank of India.

He fooled the lady by telling her that her ATM card was blocked and therefore asking her about all her ATM card details and Pin number.

According to police inspector Bhaguji Auti, he called the lady multiple times asking her for the OTP and later asking her to delete all the other mesages from the bank.

He made the first transaction of Rs.4000.

Then he made sure that the lady was not in any sort of suspicion by calling her several times.

The maximum transaction made was of Rs. 49,999.

The lady came to know about the fraud when she visited the bank to get her passbook updated.

The bank authorities told her that they never actually called her to seek her card details.

The family is in a shock.

The lady confessed that she knew least regarding online banking.

The Investigation team has maintained a proper contact with the family for any further details.

The State Bank of India has been asked to send messages to all its customers advicing them, not to share their OTP or card details with anyone.
