Japanese engineers revealed on Wednesday a robot that transforms into a car and in fact can carry people on board, in what they claimed was the first-ever such achievement in the history of robots.

The 3.7-metre (12.1-feet)-tall two-seater robot "J-deite RIDE" can turn into a sports car and  This process takes about a minute. It can technically ride at 30 km/h (18.6 mph) or run on its four wheels but developers said they've never in actuality tested it outside the factory cargo bay region

Kenji Ishida,The CEO of Brave Robotics,  who made the first move in the co-project with Asratec, an associate of the Japanese mobile phone giant SoftBank, and a roller coaster manufacturer Sansei Technologies, stated he was inspired by his childhood transformer heroes in anime movies.

While acknowledging that it may seem like a luxurious and expensive toy, Ishida stated the robot is an attempt to inspire others and broaden the human imagination. Developers asserted they will start with utilizing the technology in entertainment industry, such as amusement park and street parades as DD news informed.

The Trio of companies has planned to show off the robot on May 5 at Twin Ring Motegi, a race circuit in Tochigi Prefecture, and at the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2018 in Florida in November.
