Lucknow: A major accident was averted in Uttar Pradesh's Chitrakoot on Tuesday morning. Here, a  boat carrying about three dozen devotees suddenly got unbalanced and capsized in the Mandakini river. All have been saved with alertness and good luck. The incident took place at Bharat Ghat. All the devotees are said to be from Maharashtra. All these devotees had come to Chitrakoot on the banks of the Mandakini river for darshan puja.

According to the information provided by the police, a boat carrying 35 devotees at Bharat Ghat under Nayagaon police station area, which was on its way to the ghat, overturned in the river unbalanced while unloading the passengers near the ghat. Due to this, all the devotees on board the boat fell into the river. As soon as the boat overturned, there was a scream at the spot. But the swimmers and others present nearby immediately showed immediate activity and rescued all the devotees safely. On receiving the information, the police also reached the spot.
