Visakhapatnam: A shocking case has come to light in the Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh, where a couple gave birth to twin daughters on the same date, two of their daughters died 2 years ago on the same date. A couple named Appala Raju and Bhagyalakshmi lost two innocent girls when a boat capsized in the Godavari river on September 15, 2019. Now, two years later, on the same date of September 15, 2021, Bhagyalakshmi gave birth to twins through IVF treatment at Padma dress hospital in Visakhapatnam.

Dr P Sudha Padmashri, who underwent the delivery, said that the couple contacted her for the first time a year ago. The couple was upset at that time. Since the mother had already undergone a tubectomy, I explained to her about the IVF procedure and started treatment. Even though the estimated due date of delivery was October 20, it was only on September 15 that the delivery went and the same woman gave birth to two twin daughters.
 
Bhagyalakshmi, the mother of twin daughters, has said that newborns are showing similar symptoms to their (deceased) sisters. Both children are reacting well. Two years ago my mother-in-law, along with her two granddaughters, went by boat to fulfil her elder granddaughter's shaving pledge at the Shri Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple. The boat accident was a huge loss for us, as 10 of our relatives lost their lives. However, we are now happy with the arrival of newborns.
