Hyderabad: A fire broke out during the power generation at Nagarjuna Sagar Hydel power plant in Telangana on Monday morning. The workers there came out, causing no casualties. When the fire was heard, the fire engines reached the spot and controlled the fire.

Earlier in August, 9 people were killed in a fire at Srisailam Power House. The electric panel of one of the six units of the Hydel power station caught fire due to short-circuit, which spread to other units.

Very fast turbine speed led to short circuits in panel units. Powerhouse generators were completely burnt in the accident. The CID team initially cited the crash as the nucleus did not change neutrally while replacing cables, panels and batteries. Atotal of 9 personnel including AE DE AAE were killed. Two mechanics of The Amar Raja Company came to install batteries in the project.
