According to information received, a case of a man allegedly raping a Spanish woman who became a friend on social media has come to light and the police reported this on Saturday. The woman reportedly came to Gurugram from Spain for an internship at a multinational company a few weeks ago and was looking for a house on rent about which she also shared a post on Facebook.

In this case, it has been reported that Ajnya Nath, a resident of Anand Vihar in Delhi, contacted the woman on Facebook and offered help in finding her home and the public relations officer of Gurugram Police, Subhash Bokan, said that the accused Ajnya was a woman on social media. On June 14, the woman became friends and called for dinner at a rental flat in DLF Face-3. According to information received in the case, Bokan said that "when the woman reached the flat, Nath allegedly raped her. The woman arrived at the Civil Hospital. When the doctors questioned him, he heard the incident," he said.
In the case, doctors informed the Gurugram police about the incident and the accused was arrested by raiding his house. On the other hand, Bokan said that a case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
