Bhopal: A major road accident took place late last Sunday evening at Torantal, a tourist place bordering Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Meanwhile, the jeep of the people who came here fell into a ditch and 8 people have been reported killed in the accident so far. More than 15 people are said to have been injured. The incident is said to have taken place in Nandurbar district of Maharashtra. All the victims are from Village Chervi and Semlet in Barwani district. Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has tweeted his grief as soon as he came to know about the incident.

The incident was reportedly so terrible that dead bodies were scattered far and wide in the ditch. Eyewitnesses standing there say that the jeep was plying at a very high speed even after it was a hilly road.
A total of 20 to 25 people were on board the jeep. The jeep went out of control at the turn and fell into a deep gorge as it was speeding. Rescue operations are still going on since the police received information in the case. 8 bodies are said to have been recovered so far. The injured have been sent to rural hospitals in Torantal and Mahasavad. The search operation is still going on and search is on for others.
