Hyderabad: In a bizarre incident, even after the Centre's ordinance against Triple Talaq, a recent case came to light from Hyderabad. A 22-year-old woman, Farah Fatima, alleged that she was given triple talaq by her husband through Whatsapp. The accused was identified as Yaser Siddiqui who is a resident of Mir Alam Mandi but lives in the US. According to a source report, Fatima was given divorce by her husband through Whatsapp. The victim was detained at the San Francisco airport and was informed by the immigration authorities that she was no longer Siddiqui's wife. After getting the Whatsapp message, she decided to travel to the US to join her husband but was shocked to know that she was divorced

In a talk Fatima said that she was in immigration custody for 24 days. She landed in the US on February 12 and was returned to India On March 9. Moreover, her legs and hand were chained while she was taken up on the flight. She further mentioned that she had gone to the US twice to be with him. However, a few months ago when she was in India, she received a message saying that he had already divorced her. In a Whatsapp message they had exchanged, he had also asked her to file a complaint against him if she wanted to. Meanwhile, no divorce papers had been signed and she claims that the accused was having an affair with another woman.

Reportedly, their marriage was performed on March 3, 2016, and it took place on phone as per the marriage certificate issued by the Telangana State Wakf Board on June 1, 2016.
