Ghaziabad:  The death of Indian student Kartik, who had gone to study global marketing at Senika University in Toronto, Canada, has sent shockwaves through the family. However, the family does not know the cause of death clearly. While the Canadian police are treating Kartik's death as a murder, the family members living in Sahibabad are assuming the incident to be due to the fear of robbery.

Canadian police have reported more than one bullet wound in the student's body in an initial investigation. However, the post mortem of the student's body is yet to come. After doing BBA from Noida, Kartik had moved to Canada in January. He was doing his master's from Senica University in Toronto as well as working at a restaurant. Kartik's father Jitesh Vasudeva said that the last time he spoke to Kartik on the phone at around 12.30 pm (Indian time) on Thursday night. He was about to leave for work at the restaurant after eating.

After 5 p.m. on Thursday (Canada time), police received information about a five-foot-six-seven-inch man being shot dead outside the Shareborne metro station subway. Police have identified one suspect in the initial investigation. Police have reported that more than one bullet was found in Kartik's body. Canadian police are scanning the footage with the help of the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).
