'Land mafia Rakesh Tikait took possession of our land', woman pleaded to CM Yogi for justice

Lucknow: A woman has appealed to UP CM Yogi Adityanath for justice against Rakesh Tikait, brother of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Bhakiu) president Naresh Tikait. Rakesh Tikait, who has been on the "Kisan Andolan" on the Delhi border for the past six months, had campaigned against the Bharatiya Janat Party (BJP) in the recent assembly elections in five states. The victim has accused Rakesh Tikait and his son Charan Singh of occupying the land terming them as 'land mafia'.

It is alleged that the father and son not only illegally occupied the land worth lakhs of rupees of a farmer in Muzaffarnagar but also destroyed the crop in the field. The victim's family has appealed to the district administration and CM Yogi Adityanath to take strict action. Sushila Devi and her son Vineet Balyan, a resident of Kinauni village in Shahpur police station area, said more than 3 acre of their land had come under railway acquisition.

Rakesh Tikait and his son Charan Singh then illegally occupied his farm on Sunday night (May 30, 2021) and destroyed the crop in it. According to media reports, the victim's family said, "Rakesh Tikait is not a farmer leader but a very big land mafia. They forcibly take over the lands of small farmers.
