GUWAHATI: In a heart-wrenching incident in Assam's Tinsukia district, on Tuesday, November 9, a man named Bikram brutally murdered his own nephew Rahul and then buried his body in the backyard of his house. The matter came into limelight when Rahul's parents lodged a missing complaint at the Ledo police station on Wednesday, 10 November. Following the report filed by Rahul's parents, the Ledo police launched a detailed investigation into the matter which led to the arrest of Bikram Das.
During interrogation by the police, Bikram Das confessed to committing such an offense of murder and admitted that he had killed his own nephew. Bikram was later taken into judicial custody and the case regarding domestic violence Registered at Margherita Police Station under Domestic Violence Act. When the local people came to know about the incident, in anger, they set fire to Bikram's house but later the fire tenders brought the fire under control. Rahul's parents demand strict punishment for Bikram for the murder of their son.
However, Margherita police shot Bikram when he was trying to escape from police custody. During the police firing, Bikram was seriously injured after being shot in the left leg, due to which he was taken to the civil hospital in Margherita for treatment.
