Hyderabad: A 35-year-old mason allegedly hanged his two children and then slit their throats at Bombay Colony as he was upset that his wife had left him. The three children were identified as 4-year-old Sharanya, 6-year-old Akhil, and 10-year-old Malleshwari and the eldest child managed to escape just in the nick of time. To be noted that the incident took place around 1:00 AM on Wednesday when his three children were asleep. The accused, under the influence of alcohol choked Akhil and hanged him from the ceiling. After that, he brought his son down and put him on a mat, but he found him moving.

Here it is to be noted that the accused then pulled out the knife and slashed him to death. After killing the boy, he murdered his younger daughter in the same manner. Though his eldest daughter Malleshwari was unaware about what was happening around but when she woke up to see her father hurting her, she tried to escape. Police officials told The Times of India that at the time of the incident, the accused even went out for the smoke and returned a little later. He tried to slash Malleshwari’s throat but she fought back and managed to escape out of his clutches. She immediately ran out of the house and informed the neighbours who called the police. The 10-year-old girl suffered an injury on her neck.

However it is worth mention here that RC Puram inspector P Ramachandra Rao said that the accused often used to harass his wife and suspect her fidelity. He even used to consume liquor every day and beat the children. It was reported that a month ago, he went home drunk and assaulted his wife, and even forced her to leave the residence. The accused on Tuesday went to meet his wife D Sirisha who had been staying at her parent's residence at Chinna kanjarla of Patancheru. The accused pleaded with her to return home, but his wife completely rejected his request.

Meanwhile, the police are suspecting that the accused was upset over his wife leaving him and so he committed such a cruel incident. The couple had a love marriage while working at a construction site. The accused was arrested on Wednesday afternoon and was charged under the sections 302(murder) and 307(attempt to murder) of the Indian penal code.
