Ahmedabad: In a recent incident, unable to move on from his break-up, a man allegedly sent explicit pictures and text messages to a woman he had dated in college. The Cyber crime cell of Ahmedabad arrested the accused. The accused had allegedly created several IDs on a social media profile to send the pictures. Here it is found that the 23-year-old accused was identified as Abhishek Sharma. Sharma is employed as a cinematographer with a private company. The accused allegedly sent obscene pictures to the victim and her friends.

Here it is to be noted that the accused was allegedly in a relationship with the victim when the two were in college. The accused allegedly created several social media profiles on a photo-sharing portal and sent explicit content to the victim. The accused also made a profile on Instagram and shared obscene content to the victim's friend after learning that she had started seeing other men. The Cyber crime officials tracked the accused with the help of IP logs and found out the IDs that the accused had used to send the alleged messages. The police alleged that the accused used revenge porn to get back on the victim.

It is worth mention here that a youth from Tamil Nadu decided to take revenge of his break-up by posting obscene pictures of his girlfriend on social media. The victim approached the police stating that the accused had posted her nude pictures on social media.  The accused and the victim had been in a relationship and had even decided to get married at one point. However, owing to constant fights between the two, the victim broke up with the accused. The victim was allegedly unaware of the fact that the accused had clicked her obscene photos. The accused was booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the IT Act.
