A massive landslide occurred in Jammu, Bhaderwah-Doda National Highway closed

Friday, a massive landslides triggered due to heavy rainfall hit the road in the Bhaderwah-Doda National Highway, which connecting the region with the rest of Jammu and Kashmir, was closed this morning. after The landslide which took place at Bhala, 15 kms from the Doda town, blocked the national highway, a traffic police officer said.

Officials said, the highway was thrown open yesterday after remaining closed for several hours due to landslides and shooting stones at Bhala on Doda-Bhaderwah stretch. Around 200 passenger vehicles, LMVs and those carrying essential commodities got stranded on both sides of the damaged stretch, he said.

Traffic police officer Shabir Ahmed said "The highway was closed at 3:30 AM due to landslide and shooting stones near Bhala 15 km from Doda. The machines have reached the spot and restoration work is going on since early morning. Hopefully the road will be cleared during the day,"
