NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on a petition seeking dismissal of the two major political parties of Jammu and Kashmir on the basis of objectionable statements made by the National Conference (NC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Section 370. The apex court directed the petitioner Youth for Equality to rectify the petition and re-enter it. In fact, people's Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and senior National Conference leader and chief Farooq Abdullah have been consistently making objectionable statements on Section 370. Farooq Abdullah had once again dismissed the controversy by making a statement on Section 370 on Monday (July 1).

Farooq Abdullah had said that if Section 370 is temporary, india's takeover of Kashmir is also temporary. Abdullah said that when it was approved by the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir, it was still temporary. Abdullah said that there was a time when there would be a referendum in Kashmir and the people would determine with whom he would go to India or Pakistan. He said that when it has not been done, how can section 370 be removed? Mehbooba Mufti has been making similar statements on Section 370.
