Thanjavur: Police have arrested a youth for attacking and threatening to kill a petrol pump employee for asking the former to pay for the petrol filled in his vehicle. Police are conducting further investigation in the bizarre incident which was caught on camera.

The victim, 34-year-old Anbu, a resident of Maanojippatti, Tanjavur, works as a driver in a petrol pump in Raghuman Nagar. He also helps out in filling petrol/diesel when needed to pitch-in. One Chandrakumar of Aiyyan Tiruvalluvar Nagar, Maanojippatti, had come on his motorcycle to get petrol filled. After filling the fuel tank, Anbu asked Chandrakumar to pay the bill for it. 

However, Chandrakumar got into an argument with Anbu and said that the petrol pump employee should not dare to ask him for payment. Enraged, the accused also pulled out a knife he had hidden and threatened to kill Anbu.

He then brutally attacked Anbu and after stealing some equipment and other stuff at the establishment, escaped from there. Anbu was seriously injured in the attack. His colleagues took him for treatment to the Tanjavur Medical College Hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment there.

Anbu has filed a case with the Tanjavur Medical College Hospital police. Having registered a case based on this complaint, they have arrested Chandrakumar. The video recorded on the CCTV camera of the attack has gone viral on social media.
