New Delhi: An inmate has committed suicide in Tihar Central Jail, Delhi, the country's capital. He was imprisoned in Tihar Jail No. 4. Even before that, he had been in jail for nearly nine months in 2019 in the POCSO and misdemeanor case. According to jail officials, a 38-year-old accused of murder was imprisoned in Jail No. 4. He was found to have committed suicide on Friday.
Confirming the case, Additional IG Rajkumar of Tihar Jail said that the deceased has been identified as Ravi. He was sent behind bars on charges of killing his mother-in-law. It was found out on Saturday morning. He told that the same has been found out in this regard. Only after further investigation will it be known why he took this suicidal step. Let us tell you that even before this many prisoners have committed suicide in the jail. While the jail administration claims that the mental condition of all the prisoners who come here is also investigated. According to him, if a prisoner is under stress, his counseling is also done. But even after this, the prisoners are committing suicide from time to time.
Ravi was arrested two days ago for the brutal killing of his mother-in-law. The case is on the night of 16 July. According to police, the beat and patrolling staff were stationed at some distance from the scene. As soon as he got the information, he reached the spot. During interrogation, it was found that Ravi had attacked his mother-in-law with an ice-breaking sue. The patrolling team arrested the accused Ravi. Ravi (38) also injured his wife, child and father-in-law, so the police immediately shifted the injured to nearby Tarak Hospital for treatment and sent Ravi to jail.
