Patna: In a recent strange incident the state of Bihar has been known to house rodents with a peculiar taste for fine living. It is worth mentioning here that One such claim to back the aforementioned statement was made by the Bihar police in October of last year when they told media personnel that 'rats' had consumed 200 cans of beer kept inside a storeroom of the excise department. However, it seems as if liquor is not the only thing rodents in Bihar have developed a taste for.

In a most bizarre turn of events, a jewellery shop-owner in the state of Bihar has alleged that a "rat stole a pair of diamond earrings" from his shop. In fact, he further claims that the incident was caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed inside his shop. Footage from cameras inside the shop shows a rat carrying away the earrings kept in a yellow plastic bag, stated a report by news agency ANI.

Dheeraj Kumar, the owner of Navratan Jewellers and Brothers in Bihar's state capital Patna told media outlets that he believes that the rat who stole the earrings was an embodiment of god. It is to be noted that "It took away the earrings to endow it to the Goddess Parvati on the auspicious day of Maha Shivratri," claimed Kumar adding that he was delighted to find out that the rat "chose his shop for this purpose".

Surprisingly, Kumar told the news agency that even if he finds the stolen earrings, he would bestow them to the Kedarnath temple.
