Frankfurt: In Hamburg, two people have died following a shooting, according to police, marking the city's second fatal shooting this month. Police claimed to have finished an operation and were now looking into it. An official spokesperson declined to comment on the offender. According to Bild, 28 vehicles sped to the scene after the police were called just before midnight.
Last year, crimes involving firearms, drugs, sexual assault, or property were all committed in or around German train stations or on trains.
The federal government identified the most criminalised train stations in Germany in response to a question from the extreme right Alternative for Germany (AfD) parliamentary group. When it came to violent crime, Hamburg's central station was the worst-affected station, followed by Hanover and then Nuremberg.

The stations with the highest rates of gun and drug crimes were Dortmund and Düsseldorf. The number of sexual offences was highest at Cologne's main station. The high rate of violent crime in Nuremberg's central station deserves special attention because its low passenger traffic means that it has a disproportionately high crime rate for its size.

With more than 500,000 daily visitors, Hamburg's central station is the busiest in the nation compared to the other two most violent train stations. Hanover is the seventh busiest station in terms of passengers, and as a result, it also has a high crime rate.
The major passenger hubs in the nation are Berlin's central stations, Frankfurt's, Munich's, and Hamburg's. But none of those three experience equally high crime rates across all categories.
