Hyderabad: A horrific case of rape and murder has come to light from the city of Hyderabad where a minor girl was sexually assaulted and killed reportedly sometime around Thursday afternoon. A six-year-old girl was found dead with her throat slit in Alwal on Thursday night. It is learned that the victim had participated in Holi celebrations with other local children, hours before she was killed.

According to the police, the girl left her residence in the morning to play Holi, however, she didn't return till afternoon on Thursday. Her parents began searching for her but as she was not found, they approached the police on Thursday evening. A case was registered by the police who launched a search operation for the girl. The matter came to light when locals discovered the girl's body and alerted authorities. The victim was found in a pool of blood with her throat slit in bushes. Police personnel arrived at the scene and transported the body to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem. Police suspect that the girl was sexually abused before she was killed. Reports of sexual assault can only be confirmed once the post-mortem report is out. During the investigation, the police took two suspects, who reside in the neighborhood of the victim, into custody.
