Dantewada: A STF jawan posted at the Potali Camp in Dantewada, Naxal-affected district of Chhattisgarh, has ended his life by shooting himself. However, the reasons for the suicide by the jawan himself are not known. Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava has confirmed the incident. Police have taken the body and sent it to the hospital for post-mortem.

According to the information given to the media by the police, the jawan's name was Ramaram Swamy. He was a resident of Chila village under the Sikar district of Rajasthan. He committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in the early hours of Thursday. His duty was in the Potali camp. Ramaram came out of the barrack at 4.30 pm and shot himself in the throat, bringing a rifle from the guard.

The information on this incident was given to the high officials of the army. The police were then informed.
