India has been proven itself as a most resourceful country when it comes to extending a helping hand to other nations. India’s foreign policy has always regarded the concept of neighborhood as one of widening concentric circles, around a central axis of historical and cultural commonalities.

The basic principle on which India’s foreign Policy is formed are Panchsheel, policy of Non-alignment, policy of Anti-Colonialism and Anti-Racism, Peaceful settlement of International Disputes, Foreign Economic Aid.

India is a prominent regional power, a nuclear power, an emerging global power. Indi has world third largest military expenditure, second largest armed forces, fifth largest economy by GDP nominal rates and third largest economy in terms of purchasing power parity.

But in the world of becoming a leader country, nations are developing relations with other nations on both positive and negative side. India too has nations favoring its side and opposing its side. India is a neutral country and has very well known how to balance the thin line between allies and friendship. India is neutral towards all the nations of the world but won’t ignore the threats that other nation posses to India.      

 US the superpower of the world, India maintains a good relationship with them and could be said as India’s best foreign policy partner. Recent America activities suggests that it is interested in India and creating a relationship with India. But can’t really depend on America as it’s past history was never in favor of India during the war with Pakistan, it has supported Pakistan and have been supporting Pakistan since long. So the reliability of America towards India is still not as clear that India can depend on it. But in recent during the Trump’s leadership, the Communications Compatibility and Security Agreement (COMCASA) gave India access to advanced communication technology used in the U.S. and further announced that they will work together on counternarcotics and mental health.

Japan is an established nation in Asia, and the common factor between the two countries in them being Asians. Japan is a strong global economic power and has always supported India since its independence. India’s special strategic and global partnership with Japan is a key component of Indian grand strategy in the post-Cold War era driven by their economic complementarily and shared concerns over China’s rise and expanding footprint in their neighborhoods. In 2020, India and Japan has signed the Acquisition and Cross Servicing Agreement (ACSA), which focuses on the sharing of the supplies and services by their respective armed forces.

Israel has emerged out as a strong nation in every sector built itself a strong nation. With the recent surveys in Jewish state has shown that India is most favored nation in Israel. The cooperation of India-Israel extends to developing military gear, such as the upgraded Barak-eight air defense system. India and Israel have intensified their defense collaboration over the past decade, with Israel now among the top three suppliers of weapons for India. Israel sees India as a natural ally in fighting against Islamic Terrorism. India’s recent order to buy 8,000 Spike anti-tank guided missiles from Israel’s state-owned defense giant Rafael is a good case in point.    

Russia and its leaders have always held India and its people in high regard and a natural mutually beneficial relationship has endured throughout the decades. Russia has been a longstanding and time-tested partner for India. Russia has always stood up with India even during the war between India and Pakistan they has immensely supported the India. Development of India-Russia relations has been a key pillar of India's foreign policy. India and Russia maintain close cooperation between the Security Council secretariats led by NSA from the Indian side and Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Mr. Nikolai Patrushev, from the Russian side.
