Patna: The curtain is rising in front of complete liquor ban in Bihar. A truck carrying illegal liquor overturned after falling into a 20 feet deep gorge near Pataneshwar Chowk on the Jamui-Malayapur main road on Wednesday morning. Due to this, the driver and the deputy driver jumped and fled, while in this accident an elderly person got injured after being hit by a truck.
After the same accident, a large crowd of villagers gathered at the spot. By the time the police reached the spot, several persons had cleared their hands of alcohol. Later, the police arrived, took out the liquor from the truck and brought it to the police station. Where alcohol is being counted and tallied. It is also being said that SP Pramod Kumar Mandal had received a secret complaint that the consignment of illicit liquor is about to go via Katauna, Malaypur. After that, the police also started chasing but due to the high speed of the truck, the truck got stuck in a twisting turn at Pataneshwar Chowk and stumbling uncontrollably, rammed into a neem tree and overturned in a 20 feet deep gorge.
