On Wednesday, while promoting the upcoming summer blockbusters, including the Mission: Impossible sequel, Tom Cruise demonstrated why he is a man of the movies.Hollywood actor Tom Cruise has commented on Barbenheimmer, the highly anticipated theatrical clash on July 21 between Greta Gerwig's adaptation of Barbie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling and Christopher Nolan's historical drama Oppenheimer. It's interesting to note that Cruise's own movie, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, opens in theatres on July 12 instead of the usual July 19.
The Scientologist mentioned Greta Gerwig's Barbie and the concluding installment of Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones series in a post that was uploaded to Instagram.
Tom took to Instagram on Wednesday to lend support to the upcoming “double feature” of Oppenheimer and Barbie on July 21. He posed with Mission: Impossible director Christopher McQuarrie in front of the posters of both the films with tickets in hand. He wrote in the caption, “I love a double feature, and it doesn’t get more explosive (or more pink) than one with Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.”
Tom's mention of Oppenheimer comes after reports that he had objected to Universal Pictures' agreement with IMAX theatres to release Christopher Nolan's upcoming "explosive" movie on July 21 and hold it for three weeks. As a result, the IMAX run of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, which opens just nine days before July 21, would be reduced.
