Panaji: On Saturday, a woman tourist from Himachal Pradesh’s Una was found dead in her hotel room at Arpora village in North Goa. The victim has been identified as Alka Saini. Her boyfriend Sukhwinder Singh, a resident of Chandigarh, who had checked in with her, is suspected of committing the murder. According to reports published in Hindustan Times, Saini’s body was by a member of the housekeeping staff who went to clean the room hours.

Here it is to be noted that the victim’s body was discovered after Singh, and some others checked out of the hotel. According to the report, the accused checked out of the hotel in the late morning, the body was discovered in the afternoon. Meanwhile, the police were informed at around 5 pm. However , it is worth mention here that “The investigation is in its preliminary stages, and we are still ascertaining how many persons were involved in the crime, and the motive behind the murder,” reported Hindustan Times quoting Police Inspector Navlesh Dessai as saying. The body has been sent to the post-mortem.
