On Sunday night, a 35-year-old woman stabbed her eight-year-old daughter to death and then committed suicide in Kothakota mandal of Wanaparthy. According to the source, after her husband’s death two years ago, Nirmala was staying at her parents' home along with her daughter. On Saturday, she went to her in-laws home at Palem to celebrate Ugadi. However, the duo was found dead by the family members on Monday morning.

In the preliminary investigation, it is learned that Nirmala stabbed her daughter on Sunday night and after confirming her death, she consumed poison. The family members found both lying unconscious and shifted them to a hospital. While Sindhu was declared brought dead, Nirmala died while undergoing treatment. The police registered a case and are investigating. The reason for the suicide is yet to be revealed.

In another incident from Bantwal, A youth identified as Purandar (28) has reportedly ended his life by coming under a moving train at Goltamajalu Madaka near Kalladka. He was employed in a  Maruti showroom and service station had participated in the Gilkinjattaya fair at Veerakambha till 10.30 pm and had also anchored a programme.
