Mathura: Near the Delhi-Agra National Highway-2 in the Chhata area, a highly decomposed body of an unnamed woman was found hidden in a black coloured trolley bag. On Thursday evening, a local saw the suitcase in a canal behind Sanskriti University, around 250 metres off NH-2, and immediately called the police.

The dead, dressed in a salwar suit, appeared to be in her 30s and was wearing a 'mangalsutra' around her neck, indicating that she was married. The name "Rani & N" was tattooed on her right hand, according to the authorities.

The post-mortem will be conducted after 72 hours, according to circle officer Varun Singh, because the body has yet to be recognised. According to him, the woman's images have been distributed to police stations in nearby districts as well as the states of Rajasthan and Haryana in an attempt to establish her identity through missing person reports.
