A  woman constable has attempted to commit suicide by hanging herself at her house in Thane. An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and another cop were booked on charges of abetting the suicide.

Subhadra Pawar worked in the  Police Headquarters in Thane police station.

 She was found hanging from the ceiling fan at her rented apartment yesterday during the daytime She had been living in the same place along with three other women constables.

Thane Police Headquarters have been booked in connection with the incident, under IPC section 306 (abetment of suicide), rw 34.

According to the sources, she was in a relationship with the accused constable and was about to get married to him.

"The accused (constable) came to meet her at her house last afternoon. After spending some time, he stepped out of the flat to make a call. Upon returning after few minutes, he saw Ms. Pawar hanging from the ceiling fan in the room with a dupatta (piece of cloth)," the police said.

She was declared dead as soon as she was rushed to the hospital.
No suicide note was found during the investigation.
 The police have registered offenses against two police personnel, including an ACP of Thane Police Commissionerate, on the complaint of her brother.

There is still no clear reason for the suicide but the investigation is under process.

According to the brother, the cop has been mentally harassing his sister, yet no one has been arrested till date.
