Anang Triodashi Katha - A demon named Tarakasur had pleased Lord Shiva and asked for the gift of immortality for himself, but Lord Shiva had blessed him that no one in all the three worlds could kill him, except the Son of Shiva. Tarakasur thought that Lord Shiva himself was a recluse, there was no question of his children. He became very strong to receive shiva's blessings and captured all the three peoples. Everyone was suffering from his atrocities. When all the Gods pleaded with Brahmaji for help, they said that it had to end with the hands of the Son of Shiva. Now the problem was that Lord Shiva had been meditating for a long time since mother Sati's self-immolation.

No one had the courage to distract them. On the other hand, when mother Parvati ji was married, the son of Shiva could be imagined. When the gods did not know the solution, Cupid came to help them. He went with his wife Rati and tried to distract Lord Shiva. Eventually he succeeded, but Cupid was direct before Lord Shiva, enraged at Sati's separation. Lord Shiva opened his third eye and consumed Cupid. Seeing this, Rati began to moan. It was then that all the gods appeared and explained to Lord Shiva the reason for their distraction.

Then Lord Shiva told Rati that in the Copper Age, Cupid would receive the body as Pradyumna. At the moment, they are unattached, unorganed. Lord Shiva said that today's date will be known as Anang Triodashi. The one who worships Cupid and Rati with Shiva-Shakti on this day will have a child's happiness and a happy married life. This was followed by the marriage of Lord Shiva to Mother Parvati. Tarakasur also came to an end after the birth of Lord Kartikeya.
